Job Description:

The Admissions Coordinator is an exempt position which reports directly to the Enrollment Management & Student Success Director. This 12-month professional position carries responsibility for supporting and overseeing the entire admissions process at Trinidad State.  Must be committed to creating an inclusive learning & work environment while working effectively with students, families, faculty and staff of diverse backgrounds. This position requires enthusiasm, great customer service, a strong work ethic and initiative while working collaboratively with college partners, student services staff and colleagues throughout the college.

Examples of Duties


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports, designs and collaborates to deliver a holistic admissions communication strategy to new students
  • Responsible for coordinating the student onboarding communication plan including student acceptance letters, scholarship awards, financial aid connections and new student orientation support
  • Responsible for managing the information flow through a variety of means to prospective, incoming and new students
  • Provides a high level of customer service to the public, prospective students and families, and is responsible for the day to day operations of admissions
  • Assist with creating and executing a communication plan with database oversight that includes enrollment. 
  • Processes all aspects of new student applications including high school transcripts, residency paperwork. scholarships and related support materials
  • Responsible for scholarship awards and timely scholarship award communication to new students
  • Manage international student admissions process and serve as a Designated School Official (DSO).
  • Perform the daily activities of the Admissions Customer Relations process and Management of the (CRM) software (Banner, Recruit, etc.) and provides staff with training and support for the Admissions CRM (Banner, Recruit, etc.)
  • Assist with and review all admissions web pages to ensure content is up-to-date and accurate; Reviews and updates all printed admission letters and marketing materials annually
  • Manages inventory of admissions supplies including all printed marketing material
  • Supports both on- and off-campus recruiting events for prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors and other individuals or organizations involved with the college onboarding process as needed and may include working nights and weekends
  • Provides counsel and service to prospective students and their families inquiring about admission to the college including the enrollment process, navigating campus systems, requirements, processes and resources
  • Respond to phone, email, and text inquiries in a timely fashion
  • Provides campus tours for prospective students as needed
  • Promotes and maintains continued cooperation with other administrative offices that are integrated with the admissions process in specialized programs like gunsmithing and nursing
  • Demonstrates leadership and professional, customer-service oriented behavior
  • Supports and aligns departmental efforts with the TSC Strategic Plan and broader college goals as required
  • Manage, run and update Student ID machine information to Banner weekly
  • Maintains accurate records of admissions applications to contribute to institutional data analysis and reporting 
  • Performs other duties that support the student services team as assigned

Required Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution
    • Experience working in higher education
    • Experience providing a high level of customer service
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including word, excel, access, power point
    • Ability to learn and master software including but not limited to, EAB, Banner and Recruit
    • The position is required to travel both campuses on occasion. Travel is supported in accordance with state guidelines
