Job: Adult Education Instructor

Instructors in the Adult Education Services Program offer basic literacy instruction as well as GED Preparation and English as a Second Language.  This position is part-time, up to 28 hours per week. 

• Create an inclusive, welcoming classroom environment
• Support learners through initial enrollment and testing
• Track student attendance and progress
• Strive for 75% or better retention by maintaining good communication with students
• Work toward requirement of 44% of all learners achieving a skill level gain measured from pre-test to post-test
• Engage students with a range of skill levels using a variety of proven teaching skills and motivation strategies while meeting the needs of individual learning styles
• Perform daily record-keeping and data reporting responsibilities
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development offerings
• Work collaboratively with Program Director and Instructors on student progress to achieve program goals
• Other duties as assigned

• Associate's degree or equivalent
• Ability to work independently and deliver high quality instruction to adult learners
• Good organizational skills and a positive attitude
