Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our dental team for a temporary position, with the potential to transition into a permanent role based on practice needs and mutual fit.

The ideal candidate is committed to providing exceptional patient care, promoting oral health, and creating a positive patient experience. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play an important role in maintaining our patients’ oral health through preventive care, patient education, and collaboration with our dental team.

This position offers flexible scheduling, with approximately 8–32 hours per week, and may be part-time or full-time depending on availability and practice needs.

Compensation

• Hourly pay, safety-net compensation, or production-based percentage, depending on the agreed compensation structure.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional dental cleanings, including the removal of plaque and tartar.
• Conduct thorough oral examinations to identify signs of dental disease or other abnormalities.
• Take dental X-rays as needed for diagnostic purposes.
• Administer local anesthesia and apply fluoride treatments as permitted by licensure and applicable regulations.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and provide personalized recommendations for at-home care.
• Accurately document patient information, treatment provided, and clinical findings in the practice’s electronic record system.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Follow established infection control protocols and maintain proper aseptic technique.
• Collaborate with the dentist and other dental team members to provide efficient, high-quality patient care.
• Help create a welcoming, comfortable, and professional environment for patients.

Qualifications and Skills

• Current dental hygiene license in good standing, as required by state regulations.
• Proficiency in dental documentation and electronic dental record systems.
• Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures, and diagnostic techniques.
• Ability to perform dental imaging procedures accurately.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate patients effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
• Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
• Pediatric dental experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dental team.
