Salary: Pay for this position is determined by the 169-day Teacher Salary Schedule and based on education and experience. Salary Range $44,739-$78,740

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in School Psychology, School Counseling or Social Work or currently enrolled in a Master’s Program is required.
  • Experience in counseling, behavioral health and curriculum delivery within the educational setting preferred.
  • Must be currently licensed through the Colorado Department of Education or have a license through DORA and must be able to obtain a license through CDE within 30 days of being hired. 
  • Valid State of Colorado Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle required.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with staff members, students, community business members, and the public, and able to work in a positive, productive manner in several environments.
  • Ability to read, write in order to comply with directions and instructions to complete task and establish priorities. 
  • Ability to assist in the facilitation of workgroups, meetings and informational briefings.
  • Ability to maintain control under pressure and work under the constraint of deadlines.
  • Possess adequate vision and hearing for the duties of the job.
  • Possess good technology skills related to email, word processing, spreadsheet, and other innovative software programs.
  • Advanced working knowledge of the principles and procedures of business ethics, recruiting, soft skills and training for a variety of business situations.
  • Knowledge in educational standards and procedures.
  • Ability to be flexible with daily schedules, which may include hours after the typical workday and/or on weekends depending on the needs of the program.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule/day.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening to include lifting of 50lbs.


DUTIES:

  • Prescribe and provide support to school administrators on student intervention.
  • Provide Tier 1 whole group instruction, Tier II small group sessions, and Tier III one-on-one check and connect services for K-5 students. 
  • The school counselor also oversees 504 plans and supports in creating attendance plans for families. 
  • Oversees the school’s food distribution program for families in need.
  • Provide school level and agency to agency transition support as needed.
  • Network with community agencies to enhance and refine behavioral supports, programs, and family/student resources.
  • Provide and/or coordinate staff development on behavioral health topics. 
  • Manage a standardized referral tracking process in your assigned school to provide parents/families with support in enrolling in eligible community services.
  • Identify at-risk students to include students with behavioral incidents, attendance issues, low socio-economic status, and poor academic performance.
  • Support policies and procedures that ensure appropriate parental or caregiver consent for any planned services, pursuant to state or local laws (Release of Information).
  • Participate in the district level Behavioral Health Team.
  • Orchestrate and manage the administration of the district SEL/Behavioral Health Universal Screening Tool, data analysis, and corresponding supports.
  • Facilitate a data-driven process of SEL/Behavioral Health assessment data at the assigned school.
  • Delivery of SEL/Comprehensive Health classroom curriculum.
  • Provide a continuum of student supports to include developmental guidance, intervention, and responsive services. This includes individual and small group skill interventions, whole-class instructions, crisis prevention, intervention, and postvention.  
  • Other duties as assigned to meet the goals of the school and district.
