EMT Basic - Full-time position, 48/96 shift schedule

EMT Basic- Currently, a PRN-Per Diem position is available.

Requirements
The EMT-Basic position is responsible for providing pre-hospital emergency medical care and ambulance transportation of persons who are ill or injured as authorized and directed by a physician. This position is responsible for the emergency medical response vehicles' operation, general maintenance, and operational readiness. This position is additionally responsible for providing appropriate medical care within St. Vincent Health Emergency Department to emergency room patients as directed by the emergency department team. This care is provided in accordance with accepted medical standards of care, medical protocols, training, and is under the direction of physicians working within St. Vincent Health Emergency Department. Must be at least 21 years old to apply.
Participates in community educational events as may be scheduled by the St. Vincent Health Ambulance Service.
Promotes St. Vincent Hospital’s mission and follows hospital policy and procedures as they relate to the duties and responsibilities of the position. Demonstrates a positive, supportive attitude for safety, patient care and Ambulance Services quality.
Promotes our own professional growth and demonstrates professional conduct in regard to Ambulance Services operation.
Remains current with industry changes and information.
Attending seminars to remain current with industry changes.
Applies information learned during informative learning sessions and effectively teaches other pertinent details.
Maintains confidentiality in all health information matters.
Promotes good relationships with other hospital departments to achieve optimal working conditions. Demonstrates flexibility and willingly accepts responsibility, notifying the supervisor when additional work can be assumed.
Receives, evaluates, and discusses suggestions and constructive criticism in a professional manner.
