Job Description:

The Administration Department is a fun and exciting way to join the ski industry and the Monarch family. The HR Manager should be eager to assist on a variety of projects, provide exceptional customer service to our team and guests (internal and external), enjoy multi-tasking, and have strong attention to detail. The HR Manager should be enthusiastic about working in a dynamic environment that has a wide array of responsibilities including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, performance, training, benefit administration, compliance reporting, payroll, and employee relations. This is a “key” position for the daily operation of the business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Partner with the leadership team to execute the organization’s human resources strategies and needs. 
  • Oversee all HR tasks, requirements, team members, and compliance.
  • Function as a leader and mentor to HR team members, department managers, and front-line team members.
  • Lead and engage the management team with processes for onboarding, hiring, training, compliance, performance, and timecards. 
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations, ensuring organizational compliance (Federal, State) and proactively monitoring and implementing updates as requirements evolve.
  • Oversee all recruitment activities including but not limited to design, cost analysis, job announcements, advertisements, and other recruitment materials. Collaborate with department managers to understand the skills and competencies needed for openings. 
  • Communicate organizational policies and procedures effectively.
  • Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, investigations, and performance improvement plans. 
  • Oversee all HRIS, LMS, and payroll platforms for accuracy, effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Create and implement annual training programs, development training updates, and instruct as needed. Ensure all team members participate and complete the required training.
  • Coordinate, design, and administer job-related procedures, including, but not limited to, recruitment posting requirements, application reviews, management of application tracking, performance reviews, and employee screening requirements. 
  • Administer all company benefit programs including health, wellness, and 401K.
  • Maintain employee resources, handbooks, websites, and policies/procedures. 
  • Oversee internal events, team member engagement, recognition, and wellness programs. 
  • Partner with community organizations to assist with team member satisfaction, company culture, and community involvement.
  • Assist with Workers Compensation program coordination, billing, and team member communication. 
  • Conduct investigations and resolve team member relations concerns / issues as needed.
  • Maintain personnel files and online platforms to ensure files are in compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and a variety of other written materials.
  • Analyze key employee data to assist with program administration, budgeting, scheduling, and future planning. 
  • Oversee any additional organizational programs including but not limited to housing, J-1visas, etc. 
  • Apply professional judgement, discretion, confidentiality, and integrity within all duties and interactions.
  • Foster and model a positive culture that recognizes safety, inclusiveness, customer service, and teamwork. 
  • Assist with organizational and industry committees and new initiatives. 
  • Assist with HR vendor communication, research, and implementations. 
  • Assist accounting with accounts payable, budgeting, and payroll/labor data. 
  • Support worker’s compensation process.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Age: 21 
  • Current Driver’s License and a company insurable driving record.
  • Bachelor’s/Associate Degree in Human Resources, Business, or other related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of management/supervisor experience. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Human Resource tasks including but not limited to: payroll, compliance reporting, training, performance reviews, recruitment, benefit management, or onboarding. 
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. 
  • Prior experience with HRIS and LMS management preferred (Paycom, ADP).
  • Prior trainer or instructor experience preferred.
  • Prior Snowsport, recreation, or outdoor industry experience preferred.
