3 Rocks Engineering & Surveying is seeking high school or college students with an interest in land surveying for our Summer 2026 Land Survey Intern position. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and explore the land surveying profession while working in the field and office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist land survey staff in the field and office, collecting data and performing survey tasks.
Assist land survey staff in setting monuments and learning about the Public Land Survey System.
Work in beautiful and remote locations across Colorado, experiencing the outdoors while contributing to exciting projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Must be able to carry safely 50 pounds.
Interest in land surveying or outdoor hands-on work.
Preferred:
Currently enrolled in a college Land Surveying program that will eventually qualify you for licensure in the state of Colorado.
Previous experience with hands-on, outdoor jobs (e.g., construction, landscaping, etc.).
Proficient in trigonometric calculations.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Most days will consist of 8-hour shifts, but occasional longer days may be required. Time worked over 40 hours per week will be paid at time-and-a-half overtime rates.
AutoCAD is preferrable. Interns will focus on fieldwork and research, but may perform drafting or other office related services.
This is a seasonal full-time position from May through August.
COMPENSATION
Hourly pay: $17–$22/hour, based on experience.
LOCATION
Cañon City, Colorado.
