Responsibilities
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process transactions, returns, and exchanges efficiently.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos.
- Maintain store merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented.
- Conduct product demos when needed to promote new items or special offers to customers.
- Uphold phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
- Support sales efforts through upselling relevant products and promoting store promotions or loyalty programs.
- Supervise or assist with other team members as needed, ensuring smooth store operations during your shift.
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cash register operations in a retail environment.
- Strong communication
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to create positive interactions.
- Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for cash handling and retail math calculations.
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking procedures, and product placement strategies.
- Familiarity with grocery store operations, including inventory management and product demos.
