Job Description:

Salida Mountain Sports is a specialty outdoor retailer located in the heart of the Rockies in Salida, Colorado. We serve a passionate community of backcountry skiers, splitboarders, hikers, bikers, and mountain athletes. Our goal is simple: provide great gear, honest advice, and a welcoming shop for locals and visitors alike.

We’re looking for another Outdoor Gear Specialist to join our crew and help deliver an awesome customer experience.

What You'll Do

• Help customers find the right gear for their adventures
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on skis, splitboards, apparel, and outdoor gear like backpacks, tents and sleeping bags
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming sales floor
• Assist with merchandising and restocking
• Help support demo program and shop events
• Work collaboratively with a small, passionate team

Requirements

• Previous outdoor specialty retail sales experience
• Experience with skiing or snowboarding or in the industry
• Knowledge of backcountry and touring equipment
• Passion for mountain sports and the outdoor community
• Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude
• Ability to work weekends and holidays during busy seasons

Preferred (but not required)

• Experience with ski or snowboard tech work
• Basic boot fitting experience

Schedule

Part-time or full-time depending on availability.
