Job Description:

Join our dynamic construction team as a Painter Helper and play a vital role in delivering high-quality painting projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sites. As a Painter Helper, you will assist experienced painters in preparing surfaces, handling tools, and applying coatings that transform spaces. This energetic position offers hands-on experience in various painting techniques and construction processes, providing a stepping stone for those eager to develop their skills in the painting and renovation industry. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to creating visually appealing environments while ensuring safety and efficiency on every job site.

Responsibilities

  • Assist lead painters with surface preparation including sanding, scraping, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
  • Support the application of paint using brushes, rollers, paint sprayers (including airless spray systems), and conventional spray equipment across diverse surfaces.
  • Handle the setup and breakdown of scaffolding, ladders, and other equipment safely to access high or hard-to-reach areas.
  • Prepare construction painting surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling holes, and applying primers according to project specifications.
  • Mix paints and coatings accurately based on color theory principles and project requirements to achieve desired finishes.
  • Follow safety regulations diligently by wearing respiratory protection, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining a clean work environment to prevent accidents.
  • Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and schematics for precise application of paint on various structures including stucco, masonry, drywall, and fixtures.
  • Support restoration projects by assisting with plastering, carpentry (trim and frame), caulking, masonry work, and general renovation tasks as needed.
  • Operate power tools such as drills, sanders, and saws safely while maintaining their condition for optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while ensuring quality standards are met through visual color comparison and surface inspection.

Experience

  • Prior experience working on construction sites with exposure to residential or commercial painting projects is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with construction estimating concepts and interpreting technical drawings enhances your effectiveness in this role.
  • Hands-on experience with various painting techniques including brush painting, roller painting, construction spray painting (including industrial applications), and coating application is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations related to construction painting environments—including respiratory protection—is essential for a safe working environment.
  • Basic math skills for measuring surfaces and mixing paints accurately are required.
  • Experience with carpentry (including trim carpentry), plastering, masonry, or remodeling projects is a plus but not mandatory.
  • A proactive attitude toward learning new skills such as industrial painting or advanced spray techniques will support your growth within our team.
