Job: Project Dream Site Assistant

Job Description: Project Dream is looking for a part-time Site Assistant to assist in managing operations for afterschool, Friday, and special event programming.

Compensation: Pay is $25/hour dependent upon certification, and scope of work. 

 FLSA: Exempt.  Part time work documented through monthly timesheets. Hours vary by agreement, averaging 24 hours per week.

Supervisor: Out of School Time (Project Dream) Director

Start Date:  August 3, 2026 or earliest availability thereafter

Job Calendar: 

• Afterschool (Monday - Thursday)
• Site maintenance and preparation from 2:30-3:30 pm
• Programs 3:30-6:00 pm 
• Fridays 
• Site maintenance and preparation from 7:30-7:45 am 
• Programs 7:45 am - 3:30 pm
• Project Dream operates programs from August 17, 2026 to June 3, 2027 for the 2026-2027 school year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Facilitate student arrival and dismissal from Lake County Intermediate School during Project Dream programs.
• Facilitate food service for Project Dream programs, including data recording and meal requests.
• Manage roster and routes for regular transportation routes.
• Record student attendance for Project Dream programs.
• Follow LCSD building management and emergency response procedures to maintain student safety.
• Communicate with the Project Dream Administrative Team regarding student, family, and staff concerns.
• Assist Project Dream programs for student supervision as needed, including substitute activity leader.
• Administrative work as delegated by OST Director, including: printing documents, supplies deliveries, data entry, etc.
• Follow the action step protocols for behavioral concerns as outlined in the LCSD Project Dream Staff Handbook, and effectively communicate with Project Dream Administrative Team regarding any concerns.
• Operate the LCSD activity bus in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulations of the LCSD transportation department as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational school or short term courses
• Must be able to pass background check required by District
• Bilingual English & Spanish preferred
• Ability to commit to one full school year of programming
• Prior experience working with students in an academic and/or extracurricular setting
• Enthusiasm, passion, and commitment to students’ interests
• Patience and a positive attitude
• Willingness to learn and apply new techniques to connect with students

The employee frequently is required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to walk, climb or balance, and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to compare, communicate, use interpersonal skills, and negotiate.  Frequently required to analyze, coordinate, compute, evaluate, and compile.  Occasionally required to copy, instruct, and synthesize.
