Job Description:

The City of Salida Fire department is seeking a Reserve Firefighter to join our team!

The Reserve Firefighter Program at the Salida Fire Department provides support to full-time staff in various firefighting, emergency response, and community outreach activities. Members of the program, which include Reserve Candidates, Reserve Firefighters, and Interagency Reserve Firefighters, are expected to fulfill a variety of responsibilities to ensure public safety and department readiness.

A stipend of $480 per 24 hour shift will be paid for Reserve and Interagency Reserve Firefighters for the backfill of vacant firefighter shifts. Otherwise, the position is voluntary and a means to serve your community and learn the trade of firefighting. This position includes a swim benefit at the Salida Hot Springs Aquatic Center.
