Job Type: Full time, Salaried

Wage: $85,000.00-$120,000.00/yr.

Location: Colorado Springs, CO.

Job Description:

3 Rocks Engineering & Surveying is seeking a motivated Structural Engineer (PE) to join our team. We currently have a strong structural engineering presence in our Cañon City office and are looking to create and scale a similar structural team in our other expansion locations to better serve those communities.

This role is ideal for a proactive engineer who enjoys a wide variety of projects and is excited to build a larger team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading structural engineering designs and inspections, managing projects from inception to completion, mentoring junior staff, and helping drive community-focused business development.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Structural Design & Inspection: Complete quality structural designs for residential and commercial structures, and conduct thorough field inspections.

  • Project Leadership: Manage structural projects from beginning to end, ensuring technical excellence and conducting quality control reviews on work completed by others.

  • Team Growth & Mentorship: Guide, mentor, and support junior engineers and drafters, helping shape the next generation of 3 Rocks talent.

  • Business Development: Participate in business development efforts to help establish, develop, and grow new structural engineering work in your local market.

GOTTA HAVE IT

  • Certification: Professional Engineering (PE) license in Colorado (or the ability to obtain a Colorado license by comity within one month).

  • Experience: 4+ years of structural engineering experience, specifically including the structural design of residential or commercial structures.

  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to climb ladders, conduct hands-on structural inspections, and lift up to 30 pounds.

  • Codes & Standards: A strong working knowledge of applicable local building codes and structural engineering standards.

 

BONUS POINTS

  • Bridge Engineering: CDOT bridge design and inspection experience.

  • Revit Expertise: Advanced proficiency or power-user experience in Revit.

  • Institutional Design: Significant experience designing school and educational facilities in Colorado.

  • Team Building: Previous experience managing, building, or scaling an engineering team.

  • Regional Expertise: Extensive history of structural design in Colorado, including experience designing a wide variety of foundation types.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Salary: Based on experience level and full-time status:

    • E2 Level (Typ 4-6 yrs): $85,000 – $110,000 annual salary

    • E3 Level (Typ 6-15 yrs): $90,000 – $120,000 annual salary

  • Profit Sharing: Participation in Company Profit Sharing.
