Job Description

  • Fremont RE-2 School District is seeking a dedicated and flexible Full-Time Substitute Teacher to support student learning across multiple schools and grade levels. This position plays a vital role in maintaining instructional continuity and school operations by providing high-quality instruction, classroom management, and student supervision in a variety of educational settings.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

     
    1. Provide instruction, assessment, and classroom management across general education and elective subject areas.
    2. Support special education staff and student programming, including intervention services and enrichment programs such as CTE, Music, Art, PE, and STEM.
    3. Assist in support roles such as paraprofessional, office secretary, health technician, or other departmental areas, as needed.
    4. Collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, families, and school administrators to support student achievement and a positive school culture
    5. Responsibilities may include supervising students during lunch, recess, or other times as assigned to support overall school operations
    6. Perform additional duties as required to meet the evolving needs of the school and district.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Valid Colorado Teaching License or a 1-Year, 3-Year, or 5-Year Substitute Authorization
    2. High School Diploma or equivalent
    3. Experience working with students in an educational setting
    4. Successful completion of required criminal background checks and fingerprinting
    PREFERRED SKILLS:
    1. Prior classroom teaching experience.
    2. Experience working directly with K–12 students
    3. Familiarity with district systems and educational technology platforms.
    4. Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
    5. Excellent oral and written communication skills
    6. Collaborative team player dedicated to supporting and achieving shared school goals
    7. Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and responsibilities
    8. Ability to follow teacher-developed lesson plans with fidelity across various subjects and grade levels.
    9. Holds a valid Colorado Teaching License or is actively enrolled in a state-approved teacher preparation program
    POSITION DETAILS: 
    Contract Length: 161 days
    Work Schedule: 8.5-hour workday within a 4-day school week (Monday–Thursday), with occasional Fridays designated for professional development.
    Annual Salary: $32,200
